[As of September 13 @ 4:15 p.m.]

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to meet these needs in our congregation and in the community.  Since a vastly wider area in Florida was damaged, we may not count on as many out of town teams as last year. In the meantime, individually, we can help each other. To volunteer contact neillrobins@comcast.net

IF YOU CAN SAFELY HELP OTHERS TODAY … GO FOR IT!

We are hearing reports of people in our community being scammed and gouged for things like removing storm shutters.  Let’s help each other out. If you and your family and household are taken care of, consider how you can help someone in need, in any small way. Prayerfully consider how you can personally be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus to someone around you.

To volunteer or arrange to meet one of the needs coming in, contact email neillrobins@comcast.net

PLEASE PRAY!

Please continue to pray for patience, grace and kindness. People you meet today may be stressed, anxious, sleep deprived and exhausted.  Pray that Christ would fill us all with extra measures of his grace.

Pray for those dealing with flooding… and flooding again. Davis Shores was hit hard, yet again.

Pray first responders, for strength and rest.

DEVOTIONAL WORD

John 6:21

Then they were glad to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

It was dark… the seas were rough … the wind was blowing hard!  Sound familiar?  The disciples saw Jesus walking on the water.  Jesus said, “It is I, do not be afraid!” When they finally recognized Him, this time Jesus didn’t calm the seas, but His presence made a huge difference.

“Then they were glad to take Him into the boat.”  Jesus in your life improves every situation. Invite Jesus into “your boat"--the mental, emotional and physical baggage you are rowing with.  Invite Him into your struggle.

When Jesus stepped into the boat, immediately, they were where they needed to be. Jesus makes a difference!

[Update Monday Sept. 11, 2017 at 12:00 PM]

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’  Matthew 25:37-40

As Hurricane Irma is leaving the area, the storm is leaving devestation. We are finding that a lot of families are dealing with flooding, as bad as it was with Hurricane Matthew last year. Families with no power, maybe in need of food, water or extra help to clean up and dig out.

IF YOU CAN HELP TODAY AND TUESDAY

Although the church office cannot open today, we can still be the church.  If you and your family and household are taken care of, consider if you can help someone in need, in any small way. Prayerfully consider how you can personally be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus to someone around you.

IF YOU ARE IN NEED

We want to know your need so we can help get more help to you. We are setting up an email: help@anastasiachurch.org.  Use this email to let us know of your need. Use this email to let us know of someone else’s need, especially until the phones become operational again. Please allow us until Tuesday 8 a.m. to get this set up.
